Cue the Bagster by Waste Management. It is a three yard dumpster that is portable. Made of heavy duty tarp like material with some strong reinforcing straps and handles. It comes folded up in a large pouch that you set up near your driveway or street. You do your work, fill it up, and Waste Management will come and take it away.Click here to order a Bagster: BAGSTER 3CUYD Dumpster in a Bag holds up to 3,300 lbs.
The dimensions of the Bagster were awesome. Their website may have the exact dimensions, but it felt like it was at least 50″ by 98″. I had no problem placing a couple of full 4′ by 8′ sheets of plywood sheathing flat inside it. One thing I did do was make sure these plywood sheets were the first thing in the Bagster. By doing that, I know they fit and they take up as little room as possible. Once other items start making their way into this awesome little dumpster, those sheet goods would no longer lie flat and there would be empty space that could not accomdate construction debris. Now you know that the Bagster will hold some sheet goods, but you are probably wondering how much stuff I actually fit in it. Three pieces of sheathing and about two squares of shingles and underlayment were the original goal. It took that much with a bunch of room left over. So there was some garage clean out. Managed to get rid of a bunch of bulky junk that just didn’t work well going out in the regular trash. My brief you tube video will show you a bunch of the stuff that went into it. Now, there is a weight limit. The website indicates 3,300 lbs is the max weight of a full Bagster. And there are other restrictions for brick, asphalt, dirt, stucco, and other similar debris. From the Bagster website, here is the answer for placement. “Your Bagster bag must be placed on your property at least 5 feet away from any structure or vehicle. It should have 18 feet of overhead clearance from wires, trees, or structures. The center of the bag must be placed on your property no further than 16 feet from the edge of the street.” It can be retrieved behind fences as long as the fence does not exceed the height limit they state on the website. A waiver must be signed if you need the truck picking up the Bagster to come onto your driveway. I was able to place the Bagster close enough to the edge of my driveway that the crane on the truck could reach it from the street. My overall impression of the Bagster was good. It took away all the debris I needed it to and then some extra stuff that I had wanted to get rid of. There are two costs associated with the product. The initial purchase of the Bagster and then a fee for picking the full one up. I don’t need products like this very often/ever, but even still, I felt the price was fair. It certainly lived up to the slogan on its side! “Buy. Fill. Gone.” If you need a Bagster, you can find them at most of the big box home improvement centers or you can order one through the Cave by clicking the link below. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.
